How to Make a Jack-o’-Lantern: A Fun DIY Project

Materials Needed:

• A large balloon
• Newspaper or scrap paper
• Glue
• Water
• Scissors
• Craft knife
• Tape
• White, orange, and black paint
• Airbrush or sponge

Instructions:

1. Inflate the balloon to your desired size and place it in a small bowl for stability.
2. Tear newspaper or scrap paper into strips.
3. Mix water and glue to create a paste. Dip the paper strips in the paste and layer them over the balloon, leaving an opening at the bottom. Let it dry completely.
4. Use scissors to pop the balloon and carefully trim the edges of the opening. Press down slightly on the top to shape it like a pumpkin.
5. Draw a circle on cardboard and cut it out. Create a cone by cutting two diagonal lines 3-5 cm apart and connecting the ends.
6. Crumple more paper to form paper tubes, tape them together, and fit them into the cone. Secure with tape on both ends.
7. Attach the cone to the top of the pumpkin using tape, then cover the entire surface with paper and paste.
8. Draw a classic Jack-o’-lantern face, paint around it white, and carefully cut out the face.
9. Paint the entire pumpkin orange. Use an airbrush or sponge with black paint to add texture and outline the face.
10. Paint the stem black.

This Jack-o’-lantern can be used as a mask or decorated with lights for a festive touch. Enjoy your creative Halloween decoration!
