Today, I’ll show you this simple decorative idea that is incredibly versatile. It’s made using the simplest materials you can find, yet the final result is stunning. It’s perfect for adding a charming touch to a wall, a table, or a corner of your home. Additionally, it can be made in different sizes, and you can customize it with seasonal colors to create unique accents. For instance, you can use orange tones for autumn, pastel shades for spring, or glittery materials for winter and Christmas, among others.
Materials Needed:
- Colored paper or cardstock
- A thick piece of large cardstock
- Scissors
- A pencil
- Glue
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- First, take the paper or cardstock in your preferred color, and cut out five squares, each measuring 10×10 cm, using scissors.
- Next, take one of the squares and fold it diagonally to form a triangle.
- Using the scissors, make seven cuts on one side of the triangle. These cuts should go toward the folded edge without touching the diagonal line. Repeat the same process for the remaining four squares.
- Once all the squares are folded and cut, open them carefully and position each square so the cuts face upward.
- Then, use a pencil to roll the upper corners of the cuts inward and apply a small dot of glue to join them together.
- After the glued corners dry, skip the next two strips and glue the corners of the third set of strips together.
- Continue alternating strips, gluing the corners as you go, until one side is complete. Allow it to dry, then flip the paper over and repeat the same process on the other side.
- Once you’ve glued all the corners, you’ll end up with five 3D branches or leaves. To assemble them, glue the bottom tips of each branch together, and connect the outermost tips of the branches side by side until you’ve formed a star.
- Finally, after the star has dried, glue it onto a thick piece of cardstock. Be careful not to flatten the star during this step.
